Both focus on the following areas of development:
- Language & Literacy
- Mathematical Thinking
- Scientific Thinking
- Social Studies
- The Arts
- Physical Development/Health
- Personal/Social Development.
Teachers get their information about children through observation & assessment. The classroom team also collects samples of students work that represent specific areas of learning, as well as pieces that represent the individual students. These samples are part of a student portfolio.
Twice a year, the teacher prepares a Parent Summary Report, to share the information gathered in the classroom.
